In celebration of the Spring Equinox, Weird Speciality Studio presents, ‘Animate Earth’ an exhibition of paintings by Emily Johnston and ceramics by Sarah Mitchell-Davison.
Open to the public and on view through June 15th.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Emily Johnston IS AN Painter BASED IN the WESTERN Catskills of New york state.
Johnston grew up in Paris, studied art and literature at a university just outside of Chicago, and has been a practicing photographer and painter ever since.Her process is related to a deep turning to make work with the actual earth, not just about nature or the landscape.
Sarah Mitchell-Davidson IS AN ARTISTS working out of her West Kill, NY based studio Arc Ceramics.
Working predominantly in hand-building and wheel techniques Sarah creates her sculptural vessels and objects. She is always looking for new materials, forms and methods, even leaning into accidental discoveries to move her art forward.
Sarah seeks to find the balance between expressing something that is deeply meaningful to her, and creating a sense of joy that might quietly touch the lives of others. It is with this passion and setting that Sarah creates Arc Ceramics.
