The experience of flavors & colors

by The Taste Curators

FEELING OUT - RED

Color is profound - 85% of people say it’s the primary driver for purchasing decisions.

Can color have both a palate and a palette? What does a color taste like? The Taste Curators are a wife duo exploring linking the flavors of food to the colors of design in their cookbook series Palate Palette. Weird Specialty is hosting The Taste Curators for a series of color-focused multi-sensory events at the Studio, one hue at a time.

This is as true picking out the freshest bunch of basil as when choosing a hat to wear or new wallpaper. If we open ourselves up to color and acknowledge its power, we’re in for impactful experiences.  Guests will work their way around the color wheel starting with red, a strong, seductive, and bold shade. We will taste red through a few bites and drinks while having engaging conversation around the meanings and influence of the color. Please come wearing red, too—let’s hit all the senses.

about the taste curators

The Taste Curators are made up of Lish Steiling, a James Beard and Emmy-winning culinary producer and chef, and Abbey Cook, a global color and fashion trend forecaster. They inspire joy by showcasing the connections between food, fashion, and color. Through private dinners, collaborations, and special events, they bring together their separate professional worlds in a creative and experiential way. They have also launched the first cookbook in a series called Palate Palette where they link the flavor palates of food to the color palettes of design.
